On November 24, 2009, the delegation of the Ministry of Justice headed by Mr. Morten Ruud has met with Mr. Ramiz Rzayev, Chairman of the Supreme Court.
In the meeting the Chairman of the Supreme Court informed about the judicial system of Azerbaijan, the structure of the Supreme Court and spoke about its activity. It was expressed that the expansion of co-operation with the member states of the European Union in the field of law is highly valued in Azerbaijan.
A meeting with the delegation headed by the Minister of Justice of Republic Moldova Mr. Alexander Tenase took place in the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan Republic on November, 17, 2009.
During this meeting Chairman of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Ramiz Rzayev spoke about the particular attention which was given to extension of judicial-legal cooperation between member states of Commonwealth of Independent States. Chairman of the Supreme Court also spoke about the arrangements on improvement and modernization of judicial-legal system, about duties of the Supreme Court in realization of justice and maintenance of supremacy of law.
From 9 to 11 November 2009 in the capital of Turkmen Republic Ashgabat city hold on the second interregional seminar on strengthening cooperation between law enforcement, prosecutorial and judicial authorities of the countries of origin, transit and destination, in response to human trafficking in Central Asia. the seminar was organized by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, in cooperation with the OSCE and IOM.
The Fourth International Conference devoted to “the International Judicial authority and Management of judicial bodies” was held on November 2-4, 2009 in Turkey, Istanbul.
Participant of the delegation from Azerbaijan, the head of Staff of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan Republic Alirza Karimov took part in the conference.
On October, 22, 2009 there was a meeting of the chairman of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Ramiz Rzayev with the head of the OSCE office in Baku Mr. Bilge Dzhankorel in the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan Republic.
On October, 6, 2009 there was a meeting in the Supreme Court of the Azerbaijan Republic with delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic Slovakia headed by Mrs. Ivetta Matsezhkova.During this meeting the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Ramiz Rzayev spoke about the importance of the development of judicial-legal relations between member- states of the European Union. The Chairman of the Supreme Court also spoke about the reforms in judicial-legal sphere, about duties of the Supreme Court in realization of justice and maintenance of supremacy of law.
- Judge of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan Republic Ali Seyfaliyev took part in Human Dimension Implementation Meeting of OSCE held in Poland, in Warsaw on 28-30 September 2009.Meetings on Human Dimension Implementation are held by member-states of OSCE, for discussion of carrying out their duties in sphere of human dimension.
The ambassador Mr. Boris Frlech, the chief of the observation mission of the Democratic Reforms and Human Rights Office of OSCE dealing with the Presidential election which would be held in Azerbaijan with the delegation he headed met with Ramiz Rzayev, the chairman of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan Republic.
Being pleased of greeting respected guests in Azerbaijan, the chairman of the Supreme Court gave the information about the work carried out in the area of modernizing of the judicial system, raising of the efficiency of justice, ensuring the pre-eminence of law and also emphasized that all of these served for the reliable defense of human rights and freedoms.
On November 24 the delegation of “Aqo” Monitoring Group of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe which is in our country has met with Chairman of the Supreme Court Mr. Ramiz Rzayev.
