On 1 June 2021, President of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev held a meeting with a delegation visiting our country led by the Prosecutor General of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Turkey Bekir Şahin.
Expressing satisfaction in welcoming the delegation to Azerbaijan, President of the Supreme Court deeply thanked the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the people of Turkey for political and moral support to our country during the 44-day Patriotic War and emphasized that this embodied the words of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, “Azerbaijan-Turkey: one nation, two states”.
President of the Supreme Court, in expressing his satisfaction with the working and friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey in all spheres, including the successful and continuing development in the judicial system, spoke about the work done towards modernizing the judicial system of our country, informed the guests about the progressive legislative acts signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev towards modernizing the judicial system, as well as about the reforms for increasing the efficiency of justice, adapting the procedures for selection of judges to modern standards and the use of the most modern information technology in the courts.
Prosecutor General of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Turkey Bekir Şahin expressed gratitude on behalf of the delegation for the cordial meeting, congratulated Azerbaijan on its glorious victory in the Patriotic War, and wished mercy to our martyrs, healing and health to our veterans.
The head of the delegation from Turkey praised the legislative framework of our country that meets modern standards and informed about the activities of the Supreme Court and the Prosecutor's Office in Turkey.
Noting the high level of our bilateral relations with deep historical roots, the Prosecutor General of the Supreme Court of Turkey highly praised the all-round dynamic development of Azerbaijan, the reforms in the judicial system and its achievements.
At the end of the meeting, the President of the Supreme Court thanked the Prosecutor General of the Supreme Court of Turkey Bekir Şahin and the members of the delegation for the special interest and attention shown to the judicial bodies and prosecutors’ offices of Azerbaijan, as well as for the notable meeting and wished them success in their future endeavors.
Guests from Turkey took a tour of the administrative building of the Supreme Court and the Museum of Judicial History. The Prosecutor General of the Supreme Court of Turkey wrote his heartfelt words in the guest book of the museum.
