On 27 September 2021, the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held under the Presidency of Ramiz Rzayev.
Opening the plenary session, the President of the Supreme Court said that a year ago, on 27 September 2020, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia began a major military offensive along the line of contact by intensively firing on the settlements and positions of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In response to this military aggression, the Azerbaijani armed forces conducted counter-offensive operations against the Armenian occupying forces in full compliance with Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations based on the right of self-defense and international humanitarian norms. The 44-day Patriotic War ended with a victory. Our lands, which have been under occupation for 30 years, have been liberated thanks to the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, and the bravery of our victorious army. Today, the Commemoration Day is being held in our country. We ask God to bless our martyrs who died for the freedom and territorial integrity of our homeland and wish health to our veterans.
