The delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Justice of the People’s Republic of China Zhang Sujun met with the President of the Supreme Court, Ramiz Rzayev on April 26, 2013.
The President of the Supreme Court was pleased to welcome the delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Justice of the People’s Republic of China and noted that the relationship between the judicial systems of Azerbaijan and China had entered into a new level and it was developing successfully.
The President of the Supreme Court talked about the effectiveness of the judicial measures carried out in our country and informed the guests about its reflection in the structure and work of the Supreme Court. He stated that the provisions of the international legal documents, especially the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights are applied by the Supreme Court. The latest information technologies are used in the judicial system.
The President of the Supreme Court expressed his satisfaction with the development of the co-operation between the judicial systems of Azerbaijan and China and stated that this visit would serve to the further development of the co-operation between the judicial systems of two countries.
The Deputy Minister of Justice of the People’s Republic of China Zhang Sujun talked about the scope of the activities of the Ministry of Justice in China and mentioned the importance of mutual co-operation between two countries. He also stated that this co-operation would continue in the future.
The President of the Supreme Court and the Deputy Minister of Justice exchanged their views on reforms in the field of legal state-building and judicial practice in the meeting.
Chinese guests got acquainted with the administrative building of the Supreme Court and visited the History Museum of the Court.
At the end of the meeting the President of the Supreme Court thanked the Chinese delegation for their special interest and attention to the judicial authorities of Azerbaijan and wished them good luck in their future work.
