On February 5th 2014, in the building of Supreme Court were held the meeting between the Chief Adviser of the South Caucasus office of the Department of Human Rights of United Nations Mr. Vladimir Shkolnikov, National Adviser on Human Rights Mr. Kamran Bagirov and employees of the International Relations Department and Human Rights and Public Relation Department. The initiators of the meeting were the Human Rights and Public Relations department of the Supreme Court and High Commissioner of United Nations on Human Rights. The meeting was held within the framework of visit of Mr Vladimir Shkolnikov to Azerbaijan. Chief adviser of the South Caucasus office, the Human Rights Office of the United Nations, Vladimir Shkolnikov, got acquainted with the activities of the newly created Human Rights and Public Relations department, and met with its staff, and discussed ways of further development of cooperation with the judicial authorities of the country from the perspective of human rights.
The meeting focused on issues of public awareness about the laws designed to respect for human rights and the status of human rights, cooperation and exchange of experience with foreign and international organizations, participation in conferences and forums and other forms of cooperation. During the meeting, the UN representative Vladimir Schoolchildren provided information and spoke about the work done in the field of human rights.
Finally, guests were presented with training and information materials on human rights and the “delivering of justice".
