A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Supreme Court of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria

On April 27 and 28, 2024, Inam Karimov, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and Chairman of the Judicial-Legal Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, visited the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.

Inam Karimov took part in the International Conference on the Occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Supreme Court of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, attended by the Chief Justices and official representatives of the Supreme Courts of various countries.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan gave detailed information about the reforms carried out in the judicial and legal field in our country and the work done in the direction of increasing the efficiency of justice, especially in the field of digitization of courts. He stated that, as in other fields, digitization in the judicial field is one of the priority areas of state policy.

Bilateral meetings were held within the framework of the conference, and opinions were effectively exchanged on issues of mutual interest.

On the second day of the visit, a bilateral meeting was held between Inam Karimov and Tahar Mamouni, the First President of the Supreme Court of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria. Tahar Mamouni recalling his visit to Baku last year expressed his high appreciation for the cooperation with the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan and touched upon the prospects of cooperation between the courts of both countries.

Within the framework of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Supreme Court of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria in order to develop justice, expand cooperation between the judicial bodies of the two friendly states, and deepen relationships.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Tural Rzayev also participated in the meetings.
