A delegation led by Inam Karimov, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chairman of the Judicial-Legal Council, paid an official visit to the Republic of Kenya from February 3 to February 5, 2025, at the invitation of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Kenya, Hon. Martha Koome.

On the first day of the visit, the delegation held a meeting at the Supreme Court of Kenya, during which comprehensive information was provided on the judicial reforms being implemented in Azerbaijan. The discussions highlighted efforts aimed at improving the judicial system in line with international standards, enhancing access to justice, and expanding the uniformity of judicial practice. It was noted that systematic measures are currently being taken to digitalize judicial services, and efforts are being intensified to integrate artificial intelligence into the judiciary.

Furthermore, a detailed presentation was delivered on the ongoing initiatives within the framework of the enhancement of the "E-Court" information system, an initiative spearheaded by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The meeting also facilitated an exchange of views on Azerbaijan's judicial experience.

In turn, Hon. Martha Koome provided insights into the functioning of Kenya’s judicial system, including developments in digitalization and the application of information technologies in judicial processes. She underscored the significance of bilateral cooperation and experience-sharing between the judicial systems of the two countries.

During the visit, the delegation toured key judicial institutions in Kenya, including the National Transcription Center and the Administrative Justice Services Center at the Milimani Court Complex. They also visited the Kahawa Court, which specializes in cross-border and counterterrorism cases, and held meetings with senior officials of the Law Society of Kenya, engaging in discussions on matters of mutual interest in the field of judicial and legal affairs.

The delegation also visited the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Nairobi.

Notably, the meetings were attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Kenya, H.E. Sultan Hajiyev.
