Co-reporters of PACE Monitoring Committee visited the Supreme Court

On June 12, 2012 Chairman of the Supreme Court met with the co-reporters of PACE Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on implementation of commitments by Member States of the Council of Europe on Azerbaijan, Mr. Cozef Debono Qrex, Mr. Pedro Aqramunt Fond de Mora and Deputy of Secretary of the Monitoring Committee, Mrs. Aqnieşka Naçilo.

During the meeting, Chairman of the Supreme Court noted that the judicial system of Azerbaijan operates as the European judicial system. During the seminars, held regularly in the Supreme Court the international legal acts, in particular, the case law of the European Convention on "Protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms" are examined. The human factor is principal. Concrete measures are taken for the implementation of the "National Plan of Actions for the Protection of Human Rights in Azerbaijan". We try to make the decisions equitable and based on common experience. New information technologies are using during the proceedings.

During the meeting, Chairman of the Supreme Court answered the questions of co-reporters of the Monitoring Committee on Azerbaijan.

         At the end of the meeting, Chairman of the Supreme Court thanked the reporters of the Monitoring Committee for useful exchange of views.
