Staff members of the Supreme Court visited the European Court of Human Rights

On October 19-21, 2023, within the framework of cooperation with the Council of Europe, the staff members  of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan  visited the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France.

As part of the project of the Superior Courts Network of the European Court of Human Rights “Visiting Professional Scheme” they participated in seminars and exchanged views on a variety of topics.

The delegation of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan heard the reports of the vice-chairman of the European Court of Human Rights and other employees of court, and has received information about the operating procedure of the court’s structural units and the methods of organization of legal proceedings.

In particular, the rules of referring to the previous court judgments on similar cases important from the standpoint of unified judicial practice in the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights were studied, views were exchanged with the  speakers as well as the other participants of the event - the delegations of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Slovenia and the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Latvia.
