“Aqo” Monitoring Group of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe has met with the Chairman of the Supreme Court

On November 24 the delegation of “Aqo” Monitoring Group of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe which is in our country has met with Chairman of the Supreme Court Mr. Ramiz Rzayev.
         In the meeting the Chairman of the Supreme Court who informed about the judicial system of Azerbaijan, the structure of the Supreme Court and its activity noted that European Continental judicial system is implemented in Azerbaijan. International legal acts, especially, the articles of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms the precedent law of the European Court of Human Rights is studied and referred to them. The adopted decisions are conferred the same status as the European standards. The modern information technologies are being used at courts. 
          Stelian Stroyan, Chairman of the monitoring group, the permanent delegate of Romania at the Council of Europe, expressed his satisfaction the work carried out dealing with the modernization of judicial system of Azerbaijan has started to have a new experience in this field. The undertakings realized here-the conformity of the choice procedures of judges with European standards, participation of international experts in seminars, trainings, implementation of modern technologies, international observers, are also followed by us and highly valued.   
           The Chairman of the Supreme Court detailed answers to the questions which interested the members of the monitoring group. The members of monitoring group who got acquainted with the new administration building of the Supreme Court which meets its high status, expressed their pleasant impressions on it. They noted that the building of the Supreme Court the best place, for holding international legal arrangements. The members of the monitoring group visited the museum of judicial history and got acquainted with working conditions of judges. 
At the end of the meeting Chairman of the Supreme Court thanked the members of “Aqo” Monitoring Group of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe for the important meeting and useful exchange of views.
