On 11th of June the seminar on “Actual issues on implementation of the 3rd and 5th Articles of the Convention on Human Rights and emerging problems during the consideration of civil and administrative-economical cases” was held by Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Nakhichevan City Court. Welcome speech of the seminar, participated by the judges of the Courts of Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the personnel of the Human Rights and Public Relations department, was made by the Chairman of Supreme Court of Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic mr. Ramiz Suleymanov who underlined importance of revising of case law of the European Court on Human Rights.

The leading adviser of the Human Rights and Public Relations department Gulara Abdullayeva delivered a speech at presentation dedicated to definitions of torture and inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment and concerning the reviews of the Judgments of the European Court on Human Rights against Azerbaijan. Thereafter the Head of Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court Shahin Yusifov addressed a speech on a topic on “Emerging challenges in national trial concerning the claims of torturing and extraction of confession by means of torture”.

In the second part of the seminar the head of the department Kamala Aliyeva and the adviser Suleyman Aslanov addressed the speech at the presentation regarding to the rights to liberty and integrity and on discussions of the decisions against Azerbaijan. On the seminar the judges of Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vafaddin Ibayev and Ilgar Dadashev shared their thoughts regarding “problems and solutions in considerations of civil and administrative-economical cases”.

Exceptional cases were decided on the seminar along with the Q&A Sessions.
