The Employees of the Lithuanian Seimas Office have visited the Supreme Court

On January 26, 2010, the employees of the Lithuanian Seimas Office – Mr. Alvidas Lukosaitis, Julius Glebovas and Yonas Cekuolis have met with Mr. Alirza Kerimov, the fulfiller the duties of the head of staff of the Supreme Court.

Mr. Alirza Kerimov congratulated the guests on the occasion of the fact that the Republic of the Lithuania has been declared the winner of the tender held on November 24-25, 2008 in Baku on the implementation of “Twinning” project which financed by European Neighboring Policy (ENP) of the European Union for “Technical Support to Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan” and informed about the structure and activity of the Supreme Court.

Mr. Alvidas Lukosaitis noted that on July 27, 2009 the agreement on the implementation of “Twinning” project among Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of the Lithuania and the European Commission. The goals of our visit are to define the appropriate model of “early warning” in the legislative process of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the framework of the activity plan of the European Union and to work out lasting information mechanism about acting laws of the Milli Mejlis.

The guests from Lithuania got acquainted with the new administrative building of the Supreme Court, working conditions of judges and the historical museum of court.

Mr. Alirza Kerimov expressed his gratitude to the Lithuanian guests for their attention to the judicial system of Azerbaijan and wished them good luck in their future activity.
