Director General of Human Rights and Legal Affairs of the Council of Europe has met with the Chairman of the Supreme Court

On May 24, 2010 Filippe Boillat, Director General of Human Rights and Legal Affairs of the Council of Europe met with Ramiz Rzayev, Chairman of 
the Supreme Court.
 At the meeting the Chairman of the Supreme Court gave the guest detailed information about the judicial system of Azerbaijan, the structure and activity of the Supreme Court. The Chairman of Supreme Court spoke about the businesslike contacts with the European Court of Human Rights, implementation of provisions of European Convention on Human Rights, special importance of expansion of cooperation with the member states of European Union in the legal-judicial field. They also had exchange of view on the results of the Conference on the future of the European Court, which was held in February in the Committee of the Council of Ministers of the Council of Europe, by the chairmanship of Swiss Confederation, in the town of Interlaken.
Filippe Boillat, Director General of Human Rights and Legal Affairs of the Council of Europe spoke about the practical application of case law of the European Court, plans of activity on the European and local levels, about the meeting and importance of the Political Declaration and also about the necessity of joint training. 
          The guest got acquainted with the administrative building of the Supreme Court which meets the high status of it, he also got acquainted with the museum of judicial history and working conditions of judges. He expressed his pleasure about them.
           At the end of the meeting the Chairman of the Supreme Court expressed his gratitude to Filippe Boillat, Director General of Human Rights and Legal Affairs of the Council of Europe for his interest and attention to judicial bodies of Azerbaijan.
