A delegation led by the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan paid a working visit to Kazakhstan

The delegation led by the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ramiz Rzayev paid a working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan from 30 May to 2 June 2022.

On 30 May, the delegation of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the city of Nursultan, Republic of Kazakhstan, where they visited the monument of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, laid flowers and paid tribute to his memory. The delegation also got acquainted with the photos and exhibits presented in the museum of the Great Leader established at the embassy.

On the same day, the delegation of the Supreme Court held meetings in the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Expressing satisfaction with welcoming the delegation led by the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ramiz Rzayev in his country, the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan Jakip Asanov congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on the Great Victory in the 44-day Patriotic War.

Jakip Asanov then informed the delegation on the structure and scope of activities of the judicial system in Kazakhstan. Jakip Asanov spoke about the works done on modernizing the courts, increasing the efficiency of the judiciary and ensuring the rule of law. He stressed that all this serves to reliably protect human rights and freedoms. Noting that the use of the latest information technologies in the judicial system, the President of the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan said that they work closely with influential international legal organizations.

The president of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ramiz Rzayev expressed satisfaction with his visit to the friendly country and thanked the President of the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan for their hospitality. He highlighted the special interest in the legislative framework of Kazakhstan and stressed the importance of the study of the positive experience of organizational and legal support of the judiciary in Kazakhstan. The President of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan noted the significance of mutual relations and that these relations will continue.

The sides conducted a wide exchange of views on issues of mutual interest.

The Azerbaijani delegation toured the administrative building of the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan and got acquainted with the activities of the Communication Center and the Project Management Center which is equipped with the state-of-art technology that can monitor the activities of the courts of Kazakhstan and form a statistical database.

On 31 May, the delegation from Azerbaijan visited the Specialized Inter-District Administrative Court of Nursultan. There, they were informed about the activities of the Administrative Court. The President of the Administrative Court stressed that the purpose of the reforms in the field of administrative law in the country is to bring a completely new conceptual approach to governance in accordance with the requirements of the rule of law. He noted that the concept of reforms is based on the fact that the unity, transparency and simplicity of the rules of procedure regulated by the constitutional principles can protect citizens from the arbitrariness and delays of administrative bodies and officials.

On the same day, the Azerbaijani delegation visited the district trial courts in Nursultan and got acquainted with the work of the courts and the activities of the judges.

The Azerbaijani delegation also visited the International Financial Center in Nursultan and the International Arbitration Center established under its auspices. It was noted that the Arbitration Center, organized in accordance with international standards and equipped with modern technologies, specializes in civil and commercial disputes and provides an independent and fast alternative to litigation.

Later, the delegation visited the Judicial-Legal Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan and held bilateral meetings there.

On 1 June, the Azerbaijani delegation left for the city of Almaty. Meetings were held in the Almaty Court of Appeal. The President of the Court of Appeal informed the guests about the innovations carried out there.

At the meeting, the president of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ramiz Rzayev spoke about the positive impact of the legislative framework of Azerbaijan and judicial reforms in recent years on the rule of law.

The working visit of the delegation led by the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ramiz Rzayev to the Republic of Kazakhstan ended on 2 June.
