Working visit of the President of the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Republic of Bulgaria

At the invitation of Mr. Ramiz Rzayev, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan delegation headed by Mr. Lazar Gruyev, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Republic of Bulgaria arrived to Azerbaijan with a working visit on November 11, 2012.

In the morning on November 12, the delegation headed by the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Cassation of Bulgaria visited the Alley of Honor and commemorate national leader Heydar Aliyev and laid a wreath at the monument. The delegation also laid flowers at the grave of the famous ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

The delegation from Bulgaria visited the Alley of Martyrs. They honored the memory of the heroes who gave their lives for the independence and the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and laid flowers on their graves. Guests laid a wreath at the monument to "Eternal Flame."

The delegation headed by the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Republic of Bulgaria visited the administrative building of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan, its Historical Museum and got acquainted with the working conditions of judges. Chairman of the Supreme Court of Cassation wrote his cordial words in the guest book of the museum.

On the same day a meeting with the delegation headed by Mr. Lazar Gruyev, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Republic of Bulgaria was held in the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, Mr. Ramiz Rzayev, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan welcomed the delegation headed by Mr. Lazar Gruyev, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Republic of Bulgaria and noted that there were numerous examples that confirm the existence of the unity and solidarity between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Bulgaria. He also noted that the mutual visits of the Presidents both of Bulgaria and Azerbaijan, economic treaties signed between two countries, cultural agreements opened great opportunities for further strengthening of relations in the sphere of cooperation. Chairman of the Supreme Court noted that the relationship between the legal systems of Azerbaijan and Bulgaria had reached a new level. He also noted that successfully developing relations would expand not only in frame of bilateral relations, but also in frame of international organizations.

Noted the effectiveness of measures in the legal sphere in our country, Chairman of the Supreme Court informed the guests that these actions would be reflected in the new structure and activities of the Supreme Court. President of the Supreme Court noted with confidence that the visit of the delegation headed by the President of the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Republic of Bulgaria to Azerbaijan would contribute to the further development of judicial cooperation between two countries.

Mr. Lazar Gruyev, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Republic of Bulgaria spoke about the activities of the Supreme Court of Cassation of Bulgaria and said that mutual cooperation between two countries was very important. He noted that this cooperation would be continued in the future.

During the meeting both parties exchanged views on the reforms in the government structure and legal jurisprudence.

Supreme Court of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Republic of Bulgaria signed a protocol of cooperation.

The visit of the delegation headed by Mr. Lazar Gruyev, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Republic of Bulgaria still goes on.
