Cooperation between judicial bodies of Azerbaijan and Croatia extends
28.09.2013, 12:35The delegation headed by the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ramiz Rzayev paid a visit to Croatia on May, 21-24 at the invitation of the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Branko Hrvatin.
There was held a meeting with a delegation headed by the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ramiz Rzayev in the Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia.
Chairman of the Supreme Court, Mr. Branko Hrvatin greeted happily the delegation headed by the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb as well as exchanged views on the idea of unity and solidarity of two nations.

He stated that the meeting will open the great opportunities for further strengthening of the relationship. He informed the Azerbaijani colleagues on the activity of the judicial system of Croatia.
During the meeting, Mr. Ramiz Rzayev spoke about the judicial system of Azerbaijan, on the activities of the Supreme Court and noted that the provision of the European Convention “for the Protection of human rights and freedoms” and a case law of the European Court of Human rights were studied carefully and applied in the Supreme Court. Chairman of the Supreme Court said that the newest information technologies were used in the judicial system process. The election of judges is held in accordance with European standards.

Bringing to the attention the effectiveness of judicial and legal measures implemented in Azerbaijan, Mr. Ramiz Rzayev noted that the measures reflected on the structure and activities of the Supreme Court.
Mr. Ramiz Rzayev said that the establishment of business relations between Azerbaijan and Croatia in the judicial system will serve for further cooperation between judicial bodies. He also noted that the relations would expand not only in bilateral relations, but also within international organizations.
Both sides exchanged views and opinions on the legal and judicial practice, as well as legal reforms carried out in the sphere of legal government.
During the visit, President of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Ivo Josipović met with the delegation headed by the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ramiz Rzayev.
During the visit, members of the Azerbaijani delegation visited the historical places of Croatia.
