President of the International Association of Prosecutors and the President of the Association of Prosecutors Austria Gerhard Jarosch visited the Supreme Court

         On April 8, 2014, President of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev met with the President of the International Association of Prosecutors, and with the President of the Association of Prosecutors Austrian Gerhard Jarosch.

          Chairman of the Supreme Court told the guest about the structure and activities of the Supreme Court, while pointing on the successful cooperation of the Court with the Association, with the most developed countries of the world, as well as with international organizations, on the basis of bilateral cooperation. He also noted that the legal system of the Republic of Azerbaijan is working within the framework of the supreme legislative principles with the widespread use of the European Continental judicial system, and in particularly with, the provisions of the European Convention on "Protection of human rights and Fundamental Freedoms", more over the latest information technologies are used in the judicial system.

             Chairman of the Supreme Court noted that among the republics of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Azerbaijan, according to the population, is the country where the lowest number of registered crimes.

The occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands makes the activities of military courts more important. Chief Justice expressed his satisfaction joint activity of the President of the International Association of Prosecutors with the Anti-Corruption Department under the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which carried out joint activities to combat transnational crime, particularly drug trafficking, money laundering and fraud, he also expressed confidence in the continuation of a more efficient interaction of the struggle in the near future.

           President of the International Association of Prosecutors and the Austrian Association of Prosecutors Gerhard Jarosch, said that the Military Prosecutor's Office and the General Prosecutor's Office are members of the Association since 1988, that is some support for the rest of its members. In particular, the Minister of Justice, Senator, and an honorary member of the International Association of Prosecutors, Fikret Mammadov praised the performance of the organization.              President of the Association got acquainted with the administrative building of the Supreme Court, the working conditions of judges, and the story museum of the Supreme Court.

             At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Supreme Court expressed his gratitude to the President of the International Association of Prosecutors, the President of the Austrian Association of Prosecutors Gerhard Jarosch for the attention and interest to the judicial authorities of Azerbaijan and expressed confidence about the further development success in future interactions.
