The Minister of Justice of Kingdom of the Netherlands met with the Chairman of the Supreme Court

On August 12, 2010 the delegation headed by the Minister of Justice of Kingdom of the Netherlands Mr. Ernst Maurits Henricus (Ernst) Hirsch Ballin met with the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Ramiz Rzayev.

Informing visitors about judicial system of Azerbaijan, structure and activity of the Supreme Court, Mr. Ramiz Rzayev also underlined that the International legal acts, and in particular Provisions of the European Convention on “Protection of the Rights and the Fundamental Freedoms of the Person”, and a case law of the European Court on Human rights are studied in Azerbaijan.

The made decisions are coordinated with the European standards. Decisions of the European Court on the Human Rights, connected with Azerbaijan, are considered and carried out. 

Joyfully informing about friendly and co-operation relations of Azerbaijan with Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Chairman of the Supreme Court also underlined that there were real facilities for the further development and expansion of communications in judicial-legal sphere. He noted that the documents signed by the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan with the Ministry of Justice of Kingdom of the Netherlands, would play an important role in development of judicial-legal sphere of both sides. 

The Minister of Justice of the Netherlands took an interest in reformation in judicial system of Azerbaijan, and informed that he would make efforts for even further cooperation developments in the judicial-legal sphere.  

There was also a useful exchange of opinions on the issues, interesting both parties. 

Visitors from the Netherlands familiarized with new office building of the Supreme Court, with its historical museum and with working conditions of judges. The Minister of Justice of Kingdom of the Netherlands wrote his regards in the memorable book of the museum. 

In the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Supreme Court expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Justice of Kingdom of the Netherlands and members of his delegation for so important meeting, and for special attention and interest to judicial bodies of the Azerbaijan Republic, and wished them his best regards.
