The delegation of the Supreme Court was on a working trip to Türkiye

On July 6-7, 2023, the delegation headed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and the Chairman of the Judicial-Legal Council Mr. Inam Karimov made a working visit to Türkiye.

The delegation first visited the Anitkabir Mausoleum, the tomb of Mustafa Kamal Ataturk-the founder of the Republic of Türkiye and laid a wreath in front of it. They also visited Heydar Aliyev Park in Ankara and placed a wreath in front of the monument of the Great Leader and commomerated his memory with a deep reverence and respect. 

Then meetings were held with the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Türkiye Mehmet Akarca, the Chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court of Türkiye Zeki Yiğit, the Minister of Justice of Türkiye Yilmaz Tunç and the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Türkiye Bekir Sahin.

During the meetings the experience of the courts of the two fraternal countries and the perspectives of mutual cooperation were discussed. Ascending relations between the judicial and legal systems of Azerbaijan and Türkiye and the importance of enhancing efforts for further expansion of these relations were emphasized. It was brought to attention that the cooperation of the courts greatly contributed to the development of bilateral relations.

Later, meetings were held with the rector of Ankara University, Necdet Ünüvar, and the head of the Turkish Academy of Justice Muhittin Özdemir. The issues of future cooperation in the direction of training of highly qualified personnel in jurisprudence, raising the professional level of judicial personnel as well as  candidates for judges were discussed.
