The Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court attended the international conference in Kyrgyzstan

On September 14-16, 2023, the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Association of Judges held an international conference of judges on the topic "Access to justice in the field of ecology".

Mr, Çingiz Əsgərov, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, represented our country at the conference held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.

Mr. Əsgərov informed the conference participants about the activities and judicial experience related to the environmental protection in Azerbaijan. It was stated that the concepts of "smart city" and "smart village" which is of great importance from an environmental point of view are being applied in the restoration of our territories freed from occupation.

He also pointed out that the process of investigating the environmental damage caused to the nature of Azerbaijan as a result of the 30-year occupation of Armenia continues, and according to the rules of Berne Convention, the arbitration process has been initiated by Azerbaijan against Armenia due to the massive environmental destruction.

At the conference, were also discussed the steps taken in accordance with the "green energy" policy of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev and its importance for the world community.
