Scientific-practical conference on the 90th anniversary of the National Leader was held at the Supreme Court

Scientific-practical conference on the 90^th anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the Supreme Court on April 26, 2013.

The President of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev made a speech about the life and work of the National Leader. The President of the Supreme Court talked about different stages of  Heydar Aliyev’s honorable life, discussing his characteristics as a great and world-scale politician, founder of the independent, democratic Azerbaijani state, protector of the national-moral values, embodiment of moral purity, and explained the nationwide love for him with his endless love for his nation, motherland, his struggle for the happy and bright future of his nation.

The President of the Supreme Court stated that the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which had directly been prepared under Heydar Aliyev’s guidance and participation, established the basis for democratic legal state-building, judicial-legal system, and the legal background for the protection and provision of human rights and fundamental freedoms by officially declaring the nation the source of the state power. Many provisions of the Constitution are manifestations of Heydar Aliyev’s ideas, legal opinions and philosophical views, and they will serve to the development and prosperity of Azerbaijan, the prosperous life of the nation and the independent, guaranteed future of each Azerbaijani citizen during many years.

National Leader’s recommendations and orders regarding the reforms aimed at the development of the judicial power as an independent part of the state authority; ensuring the real possibility of the judiciary’s impact on finding the truth;  making the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms a reality have been successfully implemented. Currently, the three-tiered court system is working successfully; for ensuring the access to courts to citizens, appellate, assize courts, administrative courts have been established in different regions; judges are trained according to the international standards. The President of the Supreme Court stated that these achievements were the result of the reforms in the judicial system and the National Leader’s attention to the development of this field.

The President of the Supreme Court noted that Heydar Aliyev’s aims were present in people’s daily lives and their thoughts, and these aims had been successfully carried out by the successor of the great leader’s political course, Ilham Aliyev.

Other speakers talked about different stages of Heydar Aliyev’s life, shared their memories and noted that his heritage would exist forever.

At the end of the conference a film about Heydar Aliyev’s personal and work life was shown.
