Press Service Information of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Plenum session of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held on March 19,2020. Decision on "Measures taken in the courts to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the Republic of Azerbaijan" was adopted on Plenum.

It was recommended to all courts of the Republic of Azerbaijan, except for cases that need to be considered urgently or do not require a court hearing(selection, extension, amendment, cancellation of restrictive measures, administrative detention cases, enforcement of a claim, court order, simplified judicial proceedings on cases of misconducts, special proceedings on certain categories of cases, etc.) to postpone temporarily the consideration of other pending cases. Taking into account the requirements of Article 16 of the Administrative Procedure Code of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Civil Procedure Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan,it was recommended to use the opportunity to consider cases that are considered in the administrative procedure without an oral hearing (oral hearings) and use the possibilities of conducting litigation in civil cases and commercial disputes through the "Electronic Court" information system.

The Decision is valid from March 20, 2020 to April 20, 2020.
