A delegation led by the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan paid a working visit to Strasbourg

On 24 June 2022, a delegation led by the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ramiz Rzayev took part in a seminar on the topic of "Human rights protection in the time of the pandemic: new challenges and new perspectives" in Strasbourg, France and the opening ceremony of the judicial year of the European Court of Human Rights.

The seminar included presentations and discussions on "Restrictions on human rights during the pandemic", "Positive obligations of states during the pandemic", "Proceedings before courts: the domestic courts’ experience."

After the seminar, a solemn ceremony dedicated to the official opening of the judicial year of the European Court of Human Rights was held.

President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou addressed the representatives from the highest courts of the member States of the Council of Europe at the ceremony.

President of the European Court of Human Rights Robert Spano and Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatovic delivered a keynote speech at the event.

During the visit, President of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev held bilateral meetings and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
